Sage advice for the times
I was just reading an old article in the New York Times
about Dr. Srikumar S. Rao, who teaches a course called Creativity and Personal Mastery at Columbia Business School. He had the following gem to say about maintaining happiness in a place that doesn’t generally place value on such intangibles, the workplace:
The Thing dvd Howard the Duck the movie
August Rush video Colour Me Kubrick: A True…ish Story full movie
”There are terrible jerks, and there are an unusually large concentration of them in the workplace,” Dr. Rao lectured. ”And that means that you do have to make some changes in your behavior, but there is absolutely no need for you to give them power over your happiness.”
At a time like this, with tensions running high and morale running low, it’s good to take such sage advice to heart. Do what you can to maintain your own happiness. It’s the most important contribution you can make.
